School Nurse - The school nurse is a highly trained professional with a great deal of responsibility. The school nurse has three primary jobs. The first is to be available in case of an emergency. If someone should get hurt or become ill, the nurse is our first-aid expert who takes the proper steps until a doctor arrives. The nurse's second job is to give out medicine that may be required by a student and to treat students for health minor problems. The nurse's third job is education and preventative medicine.
School Adjustment Counselor - The role of the school adjustment counselor is to provide short term counseling and consultation services to students, parents, or guardians and staff. The adjustment counselor may refer students and their parents or guardians to services outside the school setting.
Bentley Child Study Team - Bentley's Child Study Team (CST) is a group of staff members who meet weekly as part of the regular education process at our school. The purpose of the CST is to provide teachers with consultation and support to enhance their effectiveness in the classroom. During the meeting, teachers raise concerns or bring questions to the CST about their students. The Team then collaborates to develop specific strategies or accommodations for the teacher to try, in effort to support student achievement. If the CST meets to discuss your child, you will recieve a letter which outlines his/her teacher's concerns and lists the classroom modifications, educational screenings/observations by specialists, or any other follow-up that is recommended. A member of the CST will then contact you regarding the
outcome of this follow-up. As always, if you have any questions or concerns before, during, or after the CST process, do not hesitate to contact the school.
